I am an experienced and entertaining speaker. I have addressed audiences of all sizes and types in the past 13 years. I am also a keen "knowledge disseminator", I enjoy organising and delivering workshops and seminars on a variety of themes related to technology. My passion is innovative technologies and their potential to affect our society. I specialize in articulating on the bigger picture of technology, its implications for humanity, take into account socio-political factors, economic background, business viability, trends, demographics and strategic vision. That way, technology is put into context and its value is clearly defined. This is the niche that makes my speaking engagements unique.

Technology due diligence

I conduct technology due diligence for investors, like business angels and venture capitalists. My role is to scrutinize the underpinning technology that supports ambitious business plans and make sense of it in the context of a specific business domain. I approach this using my long standing relationship with technology and my expertise with R&D phases, from idea conception to working prototype. As a result of this engagement, I also get involved with technology startups and advise them on technology matters and general business coaching.

Technology innovation

I provide technology innovation consulting. My specialization is to look at future technologies and put them into context with today’s environment; weigh them up and elaborate on the benefits and opportunities of adopting them. My focus is on disruptive technologies and as with due diligence, contextualising them is of great (personal) interest to me. No matter how great a technology might be; it will not achieve the desired disruptive effect if it is not applied in the right context. Timing is also crucial, but context is the King! Get your context right and you’re half way there….

Applying technology

Periodically, I am also involved in knowledge transfer and coordinating technology consulting projects. I can leverage on a specific area of acclaimed expertise with a particular advanced technology (like semantic technologies) and offer it as a service to interested clients. I am also heavily networked in the space of advanced technologies and innovation, so at times, I utilize my network of contacts to fulfil specific requests.
